Would like to breed my male bo-chi before I neuter him.

I have a one year old male CKC registered bo-chi and I am planning on neutering him but would like to breed him once first. I am having a hard time finding someone with a female bo-chi who would possibly be interested in working out something. Are there any websites that set dog owners up to breed or another way to find a match that I'm not aware of? Thanks for any info!

I'm glad you love your little Bo-Ci and plan to neuter him. I'm perplexed about the CKC registration you mentioned. I believe you are referring to the Canadian Kennel Club? If so, I do not understand how he can be registered with them, as the CKC is dedicated to purebred dogs. This is an excerpt from their web site:
"The Canadian Kennel Club is incorporated under the Animal Pedigree Act to be responsible for the registration, preservation and promotion of all CKC recognized breeds of dogs in Canada.

The Canadian Kennel Club is a national membership organization representing purebred dog activities."

A Bo-Chi is not a purebred dog. As you know, it is a mixed breed ? Boston and Chihuahua. I'm sure he's a wonderful dog for you, but I would suggest you. Both of his parents may have been CKC registered dogs, but he would not be. Perhaps there is another organization I'm not familiar with, and in that case he could be registered with them.

I know there are some really wonderful "mixes" out there, and there are "breeders" who work toward CKC and AKC recognition, but unless you are willing to devote decades to this sort of activity, you might be just as happy to neuter your little fellow and love him for who he is. Personally, I think it's a great combination!
