Optimal breeding time is 10 to 14 days after the first sign of color. The female will "flag" for the owner when she is ready. This means that when the owner scratches her right above her tail she will raise it and move it to the side. For best results you can have them tie every other day until your female refuses to do so, but make sure it isn't over 3 or 4 times. That's about a week and 1/2. We had one female that tied only once and had 6 puppies, then we had a female that tied 3 times and she had 7 puppies. I have heard that the eggs are fertilized all at once, but I have heard differently too. At any rate, when ever the female is done then there will be no more "tieing".

Good Luck!
