Hi Michelle! Congratulations on choosing a BT! Your BT will be the best friend ever! One suggestion I have for you which made the difference with my Boston, is to take your vacation when you get your puppy so you can be home with it for the first week or better yet first two! Good luck!

I think the first thing to do is find a good vet. Interview at least two around you if you can and find one that you like.

The next thing to do is find a good training reference. You can use anything your vet may give you, an online reference, or a book. There is a good one on Boston Terriers out there.

The first thing you will probably wonder about is feeding your pup. When you are looking for what brand/type of food you will first use what the breeder was using. If you want to change your pups food you will need to do that gradually so that they do not react badly. While you are looking for brands read the ingredients! Find one that you feel comfortable with. We wanted one without additives - and no corn for our little tooter!

Read as much as you can about raising puppies before you bring your baby home. Get your breeder's phone number and see if she minds if you call her with questions. A good breeder is more than happy to answer all the questions you may have.
