Watery Eyes in Boston Terrier

My little baby Boston seems to be in very good health, she is extremely happy and affectionate. I am worried about her constant eye watering. I clean them as they tear and bath her regulary. It does not seem to bother her since she does not cry or paw at them. Is this normal? something to worry about? Also any tips to help with her gas problem?? Its peeling the paint in the living room. We feed her two cups of puppy chow a day. Thanks

We have two bostons and when they were still young we had the same problem only we tried alot of expensive dog foods all with noxious results until one day i got a coupon for and i swear... Kibbles and bits like the bistro meals they have multiple flavors which in my opnion is great because who wants to eat the same dinner every day forever... Any ways sence the day we started them on the cheap stuff we havent heard or smelled a single mystery odor. Well to those who are still suffering at least you can still blame the dog ...

I would try the Taste of the Wild dog food also..My Boston Loves it and she has no gas from eating it..

After two plus years of trying different remedies for my female BT's gas (this doesn't mean changing food often as that in and of itself can create huge tummy troubles), I have found the "miracle" food available only in specialty pet food stores. Try Taste of the Wild, Sierra Mtn. Canine Formula with Roasted Lamb. It's grain-free and that's the answer right there as BOSTON'S DO NOT DIGEST GRAIN LIKE OTHER DOGS, resulting in noxious gases.
Try it, you'll love the fresh air and your BT will love the taste!

Maybe her eyes water because of her gas!

But seriously, we have 4 BT's. We feed them all Blue Buffalo Fish and Sweet Potato (wish the sweet potato wasn't there but it is). 2 have gas and 2 don't. I catch some of the kids feeding them people food and one of them (the worst gassiest one) eats stuff outside that would scare the hair off a boogey bear quicker than you can say boogey bear. So we learn to keep the ceiling fans on and listen for the warning sounds. :)

BTW...we have no paint left on the walls in our living room either!

Sounds to me like an allergy reaction. My Boston did not have any gas when I put her on a higher quality dog food like Blue Buffalo. I have since learned dogs do not need grain at all in their diet and I switched to Orijens. There may be a little gas in the transition but it is the best quality dog food I have found.

We have 2 10 mo. old boston's and we only bathe them every month or two. They happen to be really clean dogs and when we do bath them we do not get any water/shampoo/conditioner in their eyes. We've been told they have highly sensitive eyes. I only wash the eye stains with a moist rag when necessary. Gas, I would try to better brand dog food. We use Natures Recipe Puppy (lamb), no beef! We tried Blue Buffalo but it was too rich for our girls. They began not digesting it and throwing up almost every other day. They still have a lot of gas as well. I understand it to be a boston THING! I'm going to try some gas aid treats I've seen on the market though. Good Luck!
