Very Hyper Boston!!!

I have had my boston for almost a year, and he is a little over a year old. When I got him my gf was living with me and we took care of him together and he would usually only be home alone for 4-5 hrs at a time in our apartment. So he got plenty of attention. My gf and I recently broke up and I am a student, working part time so now he's home alone for 8-9hrs and when I am here he is always hyper. I walk him twice a day, usually about 25-30 min walks and still he never settles down. It seems like he never lays down, he is constantly running around playing, jumping on me or following me around. I know they love to be around people but now it seems like he is not only distracting me from studying, but also not giving him enough attention. I dont know if I should try to find him a new home?
