Traveling Long Distance with my Boston Terrier

I am traveling from Las Vegas to Honolulu for the holidays (December 22). Its a 6 hour flight and he's being put on the plan as baggage (ughhh!!!). I'm afraid of the cold weather during transporting, the climate control under the plane and most of all if the altitude will effect his breathing. Does anyone have tips or suggestion for me, PLEASE. Thanks!!!

Just read your question today; sorry I'm late. I think your concerns are legitimate. If the baggage area is not climate controlled, your dog could be exposed to some extreme temps both ways. First option, I would try to find a friend or relative to take him into their home while you're away (and PAY them more than fair money, we usually alot $50/day). The other option is to board your BT; we did that for the first time this year, and it was fine. Both dogs slept for several days after we got back. They were, by nature, excited to meet the kennel person and get attention from her. We've also had a relative come stay at our house while we were gone. Load the refrigerator with food!
