Teeth are disappearing

I have a three year old boston who is obsessed with his tennis ball. It looks like his front teeth are disappearing. Is this from constantly biting down on the ball like a baby/kid sucking his thumb for a long time. What can i do about it, without taking his one thing he lives for away from him!!

terrier teeth straight from the vet !
by: Anonymous

Our 8 year old Boston, Baxter, went to the vet today because one side of his lip was becoming hard and falling off in small chunks!
We had found fleas on him for the first time days earlier and treated with a flea bath and frontline. did the trick immediately! while i was checking his lip area trying to figure out what the cause was i found what looked like an abcess around one of his larger front teeth.... Here's the scoop- it was actually a non-painful epilus-common in BTs. No relation to the lip issue. what he had done was chew his own lip while attempting to bite at the areas that were soo itchy! the vet said vaseline and taking away his chew toys would allow it to clear it up in days. the epilis is common in bostons and should go away on its own and be watched for further growth! The epilis is hard , white in color and surrounds the tooth but does not hurt or is it a sign of infection......There is $80 of free (to you!) vet advice! Good to see BAXTER on the mend. He rocks!

Same thing is happening to my boston
by: Anonymous

I was thinking it might be from chewing on all the teething toys and bones as he loves to chew... And if he is not chewing on one of those then he will do it on my furniture so I don't know what to do either! I'm going to ask my vet next month when he goes in for his check up... Let me know if you find out anything.

Teeth vs. Ball
by: Mary

That's funny. Our dog's tennis ball is disappearing but his teeth are still there. Do you have a cement tennis ball? I would definitely ask the vet to check out his teeth!
