taping boston terrier's ears

I have a 7 month old Boston terrier puppy. His ears are still not standing up like they should. Every now and then they stand mostly upright, but most often they are flopping over at about the half-way point. What is the best way, and safest, to tape them, and at this point, will taping even work?

My Boston is the same way, his ears only stand every once in a while, should I tape them or should I wait to see if they stand?
