My Boston terrier is the most loving girl ever. Most of the time she listens when I ask her to come, sit, go outside to use the restroom ect..... She is also very intelligent she let's me know when she's hungry, when she needs to use the restroom and when she wants to play, or when she's tired. I love her to bits. Then the stubbornness kicks in and when I tell her to come she looks right at me and continues to do whatever she was doing or walks away. I get so frustrated but I give in to her sweet little face and let it pass. I know I have to teach her that's not okay but she's just a brat sometimes! I love her!

stubborn and inattentive by: Anonymous
I have the same problem with my Boston. She is very stubborn but also very distractable. She has the attention span of a fruit fly. I have tried giving her treats to come to me but she gets distracted so easily that I can't keep her attention long enough to give her the treat much less get her attention in the first place.

Must be the Bulldog! by: John
I've only owned Piper for 4 months; she'll be a year old on November 29th. She really tries to be good! I train her to come to me using treats as lures, then after a treat EVERY time, I start giving her one every other time, then a bit less frequently. I can almost see it in her face when her Bulldog kicks in... and then she just WILL NOT...(fill in the blank!). She does come pretty well, but I won't have her off leash in a situation where her safety might be jeopardized if she refuses to come to me. I hope she'll get the hang of it, as she loves to go the beach and rip around, but I can't let her if she won't come when called... she's still a puppy and I won't give up on her!

Stubborn as a MULE! by: Anonymous
My boyfriend has a 5 yr old, and when we leave our apt every morning for work, we put him in the bathroom until we get home. This process usually works but if you try demanding him to sit and stay while you are moving backwards to enclose him, he starts running towards the door and sometimes gets through. Training these specific dogs is also a problem, they are distracted easily and make it difficult. I find our life to be more stressful since he doesn't want to do what you want him to do. Sometimes I just want to strangle him. Especially when you are trying to watch tv, the dog just continues to run around like his head's cut off or something!!! UGH
