Spots of black in the white areas?

We have no desire to ever use Bean as a show dog, but i was really wondering if him having black spots is ok for breed standard. He has all the white markings that Bostons should have, but also has the black spots in those white areas.

Black spots in white areas

My new puppy has lots of them. On her face and her legs. We think they are adorable but are also wondering if they are standard for the breed.

black spots

All of us have black spots under our white hair.
One of us has been shown and won the 6-9 month Bitch class at a show in 2006. Our cousin (a Jack Russell) said these spots are called "ticks"
and he loved his, (he passed on to the giant doggie play park in the sky last week, so we have to respect his word.
