Speck ('Cause he's not big enough to be a Spot..)

Speck's mother is a red boston, and his father a black & white chihuahua. He was born with a cleft lip & palate, and was fed with an eye dropper. We adopted him at 7 weeks, he weighed 7 1/2 ounces. He's now 15 months old, and he is a mess!! Hell on wheels, best friend to my 140 lb rottie, and the mascot at the boarding kennel I manage. Wouldn't trade for him, ever!!

This is Zorro speaking. I'm a white short-haired Chihuahua. My sister is a Long-haired Chihuahua. Since her mother is black and tan and her father is Red and white. I wonder will she be as cute as you are?! I sure hope so!!
Bark at you later,
Zorro

I Love your Speck! I don't have a Bo-Chi, I have a Bugg, but we live with my daughter and she has a 150 lb. Rottie Mix and my Beanie makes him mind his own businesss! Bostons are hell on Paws! I Love them and all the mixes, but I love all Dogs!

He now weighs in at 4.5 lbs. And no, the defect was not repaired. I guess nothing to be done for palate, which has a split about 3/8" at gumline, tapering back to nothing after about 1/2". The vets talked about fixing his lip when he was very small, were afraid they would impede the breathing in that nostril. So, his tongue hangs out his nose a lot of the time, and he snuffles things sometimes, but all and all, he's very healthy.

How cute! How much does he weigh now?

Just curious, were you able to repair the birth defect? What a great story. Glad to hear he did so well for being such a little guy.
