Some blood around anal area

Hello,

A friend of mine dearly loves her Boston Terrier Eva, and told me this morning that she was concerned because her Boston Terrier has some bleeding, lately, around the anal area. The blood is not in the stools. She thought it might be hemorroids, but since she doesn't have a computer, I told her that I would do some research for her on this. Can you provide information? I read the part of your site that refers to this, but there isn't a long part relating to this, so I thought that I would ask. Thank you.

Someone I knows dog had the same problem, took him to the vet to find out his anal sack at busted. The vet said it doesn't happen alot but it could be cured if found soon enough. My suggestion is that the dog needs to go to the vet asap.

Bleeding Boston Terrier
by: Kathleen

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your question. It could quite possibly be hemorrhoids, however, I would definitely recommend that your friend take her Boston to her veterinarian. Any time there is bleeding, I'd have it checked out to rule out any other issues.

Kathleen
