Sleepy Boston Terrier

11 Weeks, Baxter.

My Boston Baxter sleeps....well a lot. Hes 12 weeks, and I got him when he was 6, and it has always been like this.

He wakes up, goes potty takes a nap plays for a good 3-4 hours and down for another 2 hour nap, then throughout the rest of the day its sleep for 2 hours awake for 1-2. He also always sleeps through the night. (With a potty break.)

So my questions is, is he just a lazy Boston? Or do Boston pups just sleep a lot? Ive had puppies before, but they never slept THIS much.

Otherwise hes healthy. He eats, clean stool, plays, just sleeps a lot.

Trixxi!!!

Our Trixxi is a rescue so, we really dont know exactly how old she is. Anyways...She LOVES to sleep! Just as manny comments before...Trixxi wakes to eat, poop and play(sometimes) then its back to bed. Is there anything I can do to make her more active?

Sleepy BT

My Boston is 3 years old. She usually goes in her crate for 8 hours and sleeps through the night. She eats, does her business and plays for an hour or so. She then curls up for a long nap, like 2 hours. She'll get up, want to go outside to do her business and maybe play for a while, then it's back to sleep. Her most active period seems to be between about 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. She just seems to need a lot of sleep. When she wants to play, which is every day at certain times, she really likes to run, jump, play catch and tug. One thing though is that we are an elderly couple and don't do a lot of running around. I find that the more active I am, the more our Boston Terrier is.

sleepy puppy

It seems sleeping alot is a problem for this breed by the comments I have seen. I have a 12 week old puppy. I know he's a baby but he sleeps a lot more than my other puppy or any pup I have owned. It must be lack of adequate oxygen because of the structure of their faces. They never get real restful sleep. At least, that's what I think.

My boston is 3 years old and he is always sleepy! He knows how to be hyper and playful but he also loves his sleep. Its sounding like this is a trait of Boston Terriers.

Your Boston is adorable....

My Boston is 8 months old and has the same sleeping patterns. They love there sleep, especially since he has been growing so much. I really have to balance his schedule with lot's of exercise. He's a hyper dog, and loves people. Always making new friends wherever we Go...

Sleeps Alot

My Boston Terrier sleeps alot too. He rarely gets up in the morning before 11:00am. I take him out for a potty break and walk around the yard then bring him in and feed him...then it's nap time for a couple hours. When he wakes up I play ball or some other game with him which tires him out and he goes back to sleep. We usually have to wake him up for his afternoon and nighttime potty break. Is this a trait of this breed to sleep so much?
