Shark Attack!
by AB
(Southern Pines, NC)
Hanging out with me in the kitchen.
How he slept as a baby.
Always has that smile on his face.
Burries himself in the covers.
Name: Shark
Nicknames: Sharky, Sharka-barka, Shabottomus (sister), Dot-com (roommate), Ralph (neighbor...?)
Birthday: April 24, 2009
Background: Shark spent his first few months with his first human mommy, who soon had her own human baby, and decided she couldn't spend enough time with both, so she put Shark up for adoption. My sister, a Boston owner at the time, heard the news through a local (Cincinnati) PetSmart employee, who asked if she could take in another Boston. My sister turned to me and said, "Don't you want another one?" I'd had one from 5th grade to my junior year of college. I am now a teacher and insisted that because of my work hours I could not spend the appropriate time with a puppy, for training and loving and all that stuff. My sister agreed to take Shark for a year and raise him with her Boston puppy - an excellent decision! Shark loves all of his family (three other Bostons and a Shitzu amongst my immediate family), and now lives with me in Southern Pines, North Carolina. He also gets to go back and spend summers with my sister's family.
Special Skills: Shark L-O-V-E-S tennis balls. He is a pretty excellent catcher/fetcher, and comes to put the ball right in your hand so you can throw it for him again. He can sit, lay down, roll over, shake, crawl, and some other things that aren't really tricks.
Other Fun Facts:
Shark has actually taken to my neighbor's cat's toys (esp. ones with catnip).
When he is tired and ready for bed, he curls up with his comforter and holds a piece of it between his arms and sucks on it as he falls asleep.
He loves water. He will run into the stream at our local dog park and craw around in it on his belly on hot days.
