Senior Boston Terrier Coughing

Please I NEED HELP URGENTLY.

I have a boston terrier female of 12 y old.
She has developed a nagging cough at first which the vet prescribed antibiotics for. This however has not cleared up the problem.

She has a very thick white sticky discharge from the nose and the cough is becoming progressively worse.

She now even sometimes have trouble breathing.
I am sure there are boston terrier owners who have had similar problems.

Please any help or suggestion will be appeciated

Senior Boston Coughing

Our Boston, Bogie, is 11 1/2 and for the last year has started coughing. Now he is coughing quite a bit and is having trouble breathing at times. Our Vet the coughing is the early stages of congestive heart failure. His lungs are holding fluid and he coughs to clear his lungs. His taking 15mg of Lasix twice a day. the med's help with the fluid and he does fine. The cold weather is hard on him also. Summer's coming and he feeling better. Good luck, Boston's ROCK!!!

Coughing can be a sign of heart failure; it happened to our first dog, not a Boston. At 14 she was coughing and it wouldn't stop. I don't know anything about the discharge; can't remember her having any, just the coughing. She lived for quite a while after that started once she got on the meds. Ask your vet if this is a possibility for your Boston. Good luck.
