Last night our beloved terrier pasted away. I'm still trying to wrap my head around what has happened. The family had gone to dinner and we arrived home and she was having a lot of trouble breathing and suddenly she let out a huge painful howl and that was it. It happened in like 5 minutes. She had just turned 6 years old and the only pet we have ever had. I am struggling to figure out what happened or have some explanation as to her passing. I don't know how to explain it to my children. If anyone has experienced this type of passing with their terrier, I'd love to hear feedback.
Thank you.

your loss
by: Linda Galway/TurnerME

So very sorry you experienced such a devastating loss. Not having an answer makes it even harder on you and your family. I have not experienced anything like this. Did you call your veterinarian for insights? I'm not sure if there is pain associated with a pulmonary embolism, but I think probably yes, as well as difficulty breathing. Certainly could be one explanation.

I am so sorry
by: Sheila Delaney

I am very sorry for your loss. When I read what you posted,it made me want to cry for you. I know how I would feel and I have been there a couple of times. When my Sissy died she was 13 yrs old and I cried for weeks. I still do from time to time and will always miss her.

Her mom, Baby, died when she was around 15 from someone poisoning her and I think the whole neighborhood heard me cry that night

Unless your pup had an underlying condition already,it sounds like she may have gotten into something and had an allergic reaction. 6 years old is very young to just die.The only way to know for sure is to get a veterinarian to test her blood.

Again I am so sorry for your loss and God bless.
