Safe to breed my Boston Terriers?

by Hollie

We were considering breeding our two boston terriers, but we are not sure if it is safe since the male is bigger. Our female is about 2 years old and is 14lbs and our male is a little over a year and weighs 22 lbs. Is it a good idea to mate them or should is the female too small?

Thank you for the feedback :) Definitely not worth the risk then.

larger stud

No, this is not a good idea. Many Bostons have a hard time with delivery and there is a risk that they need C Sections. The best way to help avoid this is using a stud that is smaller than her. I never use larger males and it has worked for mine so far. Of course there is no guarantee with anything but your male is almost double her size and that is not worth the many risks that could arise not just C sections.
