runny nose, sniffling

Hi, I just purchased a boston terrier and she is 6 wks old today. Is that too early? And she is sniffling and her nose is runny. She has green mucousy discharge every once in a while. Is that normal, cold or serious?

boston terrier sniffels

Hi, My 4 month old Boston has had the exact same symptoms as yours. She was given antibiotics which did not seem to change her problem. We took her to a different vet and we were told that it was possibly Stenotic Nares or something more severe. We haven't had any real diagnosis on surgery, this was just suggested. Anyways, it's a bit nerve racking but she seems fine and healthy otherwise. We also thought it may be sinus problems. WE are not sure what to think, but would love to hear back on your situation with your boston terrier and how they are doing.

runny nose sniffling too

Hello,
I also just recently purchased 2 boston puppies as well, one was sniffling right away and the second has just begun to do that about a week after we got her. The first one was for my parents, she would sneeze a little bit, and then in the evening would gag up clear mucous. It was quite scary to begin with, I had to use a baby snot suction device to help her to clear out the mucous from her mouth as she seemed to be under a fair bit of stress trying to breathe. They both went to the vet, and they were put on clavamox, as it could have been a sinus infection they weren't sure. But they've both been on this medication for 5 days now, and neither of them seem to be getting worse nor improving. My parents have had to use a humidifyer at night to try and help clear up the stuffed up nose. but I have been watching ours closely as well. I am beginning to think it might be a virus at this point. But we've been trying to keep our little girl calm and not over excited, as thats when she seems to burp up a little bit of food.

Green mucousy discharge could be a sign of infection. She should see a vet to be checked out.
