Ruby

Ruby with her dad.
The first time we saw Ruby, she was a stray dog dodging cars on a rural mountain road one cold rainy February day. Her face was scarred, possibly from another dog. Initially, we intended on finding an adoptive home but her sweet demeanor led her to become one of our own! Ruby is a slender 19 lbs with fur soft as silk. The vet estimated her to be about 1.5 years old.
Ruby's best traits:
She is a sweet little love who adores snuggling and gently playing
She is very quiet unless distressed
She loves my other dog Hank because he is gentle
She is good in the car, loves all people.
She leaves cats alone
She is great on a leash
She listens, behaves for her bath and allows us to clip her nails. She loves to be dressed up.
But hey, nobody's perfect.
Ruby has been a little difficult to house train
She will run off when not on a leash
As a rat-terrier mix she wants to eat rabbits & squirels
I think as a result from her past scars, she is very afraid of strange dogs and will try to fight them if she is provoked in the slightest way
This is not a cold-weather dog! She trembles in cool mountain air and is very afraid of storms.
All in all, Ruby is my closest "gal pal" and I will never, ever give her up!
