My wife and I adopted a 2 year old boston. She's a great dog but she tends to pee whenever she gets too excited or nervous. We walked her several times but she won't go outside. I know the previous owners abused her so I'm sure she's traumatized by that. We bought pads to lay down to try and train her. Do these work? What else should I do...confine her only to the kitchen where it's easier to clean up? I'm trying to get her into a routine. Could it be a bladder issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds to me like she has been traumatized and it will take her some time to realize that you are not going to hurt her. Don't give up on your best friend. Make sure to take some time and show her lots of love. She will learn soon enough that you love her.
