Rocky Balboa

Rocky is ENERGETIC. When I got him I was not prepared for the amount of energy it would take to train and maintain a dog of his breed. I LOVE him now, and would never let him go, but I would definitely warn against getting a boston jack unless you are ready to be DEVOTED. He is 2 now and has finally stopped chewing all of my shoes, the furniture, and the carpet, but we still have problems occasionally with odds and ends that he can get to easily. mostly though, I think he grabs them just to get my attention, he rarely destroys anything that isn't his anymore. He is definitely a chewer though. I have yet to find a toy he can't destroy, usually within a few hours.

He loves to run wild around the house at top speed, and has a tendency to jump on people when they come in. I have also had problems with him becoming aggressive toward other dogs, almost always male. He never seems to be out to hurt them, just show them he is boss. he is, however extremely gentle and attentive with children. when he calms down, he is super affectionate and cuddly, and very very loyal. He always keeps an eye on me. He is a great running buddy, although I can't let him off leash if there is the slightest chance he might spot something to chase after. He always comes back, but not always when I call him.

Despite the myriad little problems i have experienced with his temperament, the love I have for him is infinitely greater, and I feel he was meant to find me. I wouldn't give him up for anything!!

Chase

We have a three year old Jack Russell/Boston mix. His name is Chase, and it is a perfect name for him. He is a very loving affectionate dog, yet very energetic and loves to jump on you. Overall, you could not find a more loving and protective dog. We have grown to really love him.

I just noticed something else...

I already just posted a comment about your Rocky Balboa and my LilyAnn (Boston Terrier/Beagle) being similiar. I just notice something else... we're both in Oregon. I'm in Clackamas! Where are you?

I feel for you...

I just wanted to tell you that I have a Boston Terrier/Beagle mix and have just about all the same problems you have with Rocky Balboa, except the agression towards other dogs. She chews up everything, including furniture and door frames. She is very fast and has run out twice and is VERY hard to catch. She also jumps up on people all the time. She is very affectionate and sweet once she calms down and loves our 5 year old son however. She does however tend to get along ok with other dogs fortunate. My LilyAnn and your Rocky Balboa sound very similiar though. But we love them dearly, right?!
