Reserved Boston Terrier

Why wouldn't my boston greet me at the door? He is almost a year old and is very timid and reserved.

 Just the dog's personality

We have two Boston's.

One is extremely out-going and up for anything new, and the other is always very cautious and timid.

Remember...dogs have personalities just like people do, and as long as it's not irrational/obsessive behavior, it's just part of their personality, and part of what makes Boston's so great!

Was your dog previously greeting you and stopped? Is there something near the door that is new? I have one Boston who exhibits some timidity in new situations, or if we move an object to a different spot and he doesn't fully recognize it in the new place. It is unclear if the behavior is new or long-standing. Let us know.
