Red Mange

We just purchased a 4 month old female on Saturday and took her to the vet on Tuesday. Our vet says she has Generalized Demodex. The mites are not hereditary, but the compromised immunity is. My questions is, should I request a replacement puppy? I was going to breed her. If you are a breeder, would you take her back if she was one of your puppies?

It CAN be passed on

I just discovered my 6 month old red male has demodex as well and I'm furious because the breeders knew. According to my vet, these dogs should NOT be bred because it can be passed on. In fact, my vet specifically said that he should not be bred because of this. If you want a puppy to breed, then this is not the one for you as it is likely to be passed on. Some breeders will put in their health guarantee that they will not cover demodectic mange. That's how these one's got me.
