Puppy will not listen to me!!

Hi everyone, my boyfriend and I have a 5 month old Boston named Bronx. We love him so much and whenever my boyfriend is around he is an angel and very obedient. As soon as it I just Bronx and I, he flips a switch, chews my shoes, his bed, tries to knock over the trash, everything he DOESN'T do when my boyfriend is around. I'm stern with him, tell him "no" and he refuses to listen! I've even tried putting him in the submissive position on his back and he squirms and tries to bite me! If my boyfriend walks in the room he turns back into his obedient, charming self. This is so frustrating for me and my boyfriend because he sees how upset this gets me. Does anyone have any suggestions ???

Sounds like you're familiar with the submissive position, but you must never let the puppy up before he completely relaxes his body and turns away from you. It could take 15 minutes or even more, but you must not stop. Your boyfriend needs to stay out of the room/house while this is taking place. Hold his front legs right up close to his face so he cannot move his head to bite you. You might have to show your teeth and growl, but whatever you do, do not let him up until he has given up. To do so only reinforces his dominance over you. If this fails, consult a local dog obedience expert of Cesar!
