Potty Training

I need your help. My BT is 11 weeks old. He does a really good job of pooping outside, but he frequently pees in his crate and inside. I've had him for a week. I know it takes a while, but do you have any good tips for me regarding potty training. Also, he hates walking outside. I live in Boston, so I'm not sure if he hates it because it's cold. But, it takes us about 30 minutes to walk around the street. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

At 11-12 weeks, he can probably safely stay in a crate about 4 hours before having to go out. If you are not home to do that, then you have make arrangement for someone to stop by and let him go out for a "quick pee." That's what we call it when a BM isn't part of the equation. If he pees in the crate anyway, two things; make sure the crate is not so big that he can pee in one corner and sleep comfortably in another. So a snug-ish crate with NO blankets or bedding for a while. Sometimes when there are blankets, they pee on that and then push it to one side. It's harder to avoid a real puddle.

As he gets older, the crate time can be increased to 5 then 6 hours and, once he's trustworthy with that, then a larger crate with more room should be fine. Try these tips and see how it goes.
