My 5 month old BT has a pinkish color in the white area surrounding her nose...it's lasted a few days and hasn't gone down. The vet mentioned mites and others have thought it could just be a result from play, but it hasn't gone away! Help please?!??!?!

Ours had the same problem...and after some trial and error, we ended up having to take away her plastic toys...comes to find out, she is allergic to plastic. Problem solved.

Keep in contact with your vet. He will probably want to see your BT again in about two weeks. That is because mites have a cycle, and then he can better tell how it is progressing and if it is mites. Does it itch? Are there sores there?

Maybe he just got into some ants, or poison ivy?

In the meantime, check our his food and see if you can get it pretty simple. Dry food only and just a couple of ingredients. Maybe try a food that is for sensitive skin. Also, see if the vet has a shampoo he wants you to use. Don't overdo it though, because if it is an allergy, you don't want to irritate the skin even more.

There is a great product: Immugen, that you can get here: http://www.holisticpetinfo.com/conditions/immune_support.htm

It seems to work great on my BT. She had some redness on her paws. Now she is over it completely.

Don't forget to write back and tell us how things are going!
