My Boston Terrier had a small bump on the top of his foot. Upon an inspection by my vet it turned out to be a cancer. It was removed and he is fine now don't assume all bumps, lesions, pimples are allegies. My Bosrton also has hives and allegies occassionally and I do use Benadryl which helps.

I brought home a big rubber lizard toy for my Boston Terrier today, and within 5 hours I noticed several irritated/inflamed pimple like bumps around the bottom of his nose and upper lip.Bozley has many rubber toys already - so I am not quite sure "why" this toy? Here are the steps I have taken:

1)Put all the rubber toys away. If you are unsure what the cause of the bumps are, you can use a process of elimination after thoroughly cleaning the toys, and one by one introduce them back into the toy box!!!

2)I Gave Bozley a little bit of Children's Liquid Benadryl. Skin allergies are not a new thing for my little Bozley; he is also allergic to weed pollen. My vet seems to recommend Benadryl for these types of skin issues, but I highly recommend consulting your personal vet for the amounts recommended for your own Boston to take. I give Bozley VERY little and he is out like a light bulb....
have to be careful with these little ones.

3)Cleaned his mouth and nose area with water. There are also vet recommended shampoos specificly for allergies, but since the irritations were just around the nose and mouth I just used water at this point.

4)Contact vet immedietly if spreading, and or worsening of the original bumps occurs, and if the bumps dont go away!! This may be an indication it is a more serious reaction :(

Good Luck, and I hope that this post helps. At first it was really scary when my Boston had these allergic reactions, but you learn as you go that these are actually quite common amongst pure bred dogs.

my 9wk old boston was just taken to the vet over what looked like pimples. they scrubbed the pus sacks out and put neosporin on it and told me that its natural and associated with allergies, in my case a plastic bowl i just purchased.

Pimples, Cysts or Tumors
by: Anonymous

Of the 3 Bostons I have owned, they all developed some sort of skin eruption. These pimples are more likely to be cysts and filled with fatty matter rather than pus. They develop around the neckline, face, and hindquarters.

One dog would have a "breakout" along his spinal column. That would be an indication for me to expect a seizure in a day or two. (He was prone to seizures since age 2-1/2.) He is now 13 has has developed many more bumps all over his body. Some are cysts and some are tumors. A number of them are on his face. Interestingly, he developed two pus-filled bumps symmetrically on each side of his face at the same time. This has happened during his 12th year.

Two bumps
by: Christine

Our dog had two when he was small. One on his lip, one on his chin. They both went away in about a week. I chalked it up to a puppy thing. He hasn't had any since.

I'd ask a vet. No harm is being safe.

No pimples
by: Tammy

Hi there, I have two Boston's and have never seen pimples on their faces or anywhere else on their body. I would strongly suggest you take the dog to the vets and get it checked out. It could be a form of skin cancer.
