Pete Starbird

I had never met a BT before, but when our old doggie, Minnie (an English Cocker died at 18) I knew I wanted another doggie. My husband's family had owned a BT when he was a child and he had fond memories of BT's. So, OK, I said...small dog, I know I could love any doggie so we got Pete...all 2 lbs, 4 oz of him. Totally different looking than any dog I'd ever owned, he walked right into our house and into our hearts ASAP.

Minnie died several months before Pete came to live with us. I put out a few of Minnie's toys which Pete played with for a little while when we first brought him home, then he cuddled into Minnie's beddie and took a nap. No sign of a problem with separation from where he had been to here. He was home.

At first, our Calico Cat, Babe (21 lbs,) was afraid of him or maybe thought he was a rat we had drug home. They have become great friends and enjoy hours of just being around each other and/or messing with each other.
