Overweight Boston Terrier?

She is 8 years old and the vet has said she's too fat. She only gets one cup of dog food; we stopped giving her scraps. We are starting to walk her because she has trouble breathing and her legs stick out when she lays down. Someone please tell me how we get her to lose weight! Much appreciated.

Big Bostons

Our Bostons are 3 and 4 years old and they eat 1/2 cup in the morning and maybe 1/2 cup in the evening. Sometimes they don't want to eat in the evening. Our 2 year old is more hyper and she eats 1 cup in the morning and about 1/2 at night. There are some foods out there for overweight dogs especially at the vet's office.

The walks are a great idea! Both Humans and Dogs need their exercise.

Also, if you don't already have pull toys you can exercise your pup while you watch TV. Just get some good pull toys and play tug-of-war with him. If you get busy, just get another Boston! They will exercise each other.
