OK to leave Boston Terrier at home?

by Bean

Is it ok if you leave a BT alone at home with your mom coming home at different times until 3 PM?

I am 11 years old. Please answer my question because I convinced my parents to let me get a dog and I want a BT but my mom says that someone needs to be with them constantly. Thanks in advance :)

what i do
by: Leisa

When my parents and I are not home or can't take them with us, I put my two BT's in a large crate with food and water. They have enough room so they're not compact. I placed a wool blanket and one or two toys in there also and give each a treat. Jack will also go in it when he's tired or if we have a lot of company.

Boston Terrier at home alone

It is great you are asking advice you may also want to ask advice from your local petstore. Puppies need a lot of attention. Every few hours you will need to take the puppy out to potty. I suggest getting a crate and put in a shirt that smells like you in there so they may get to know you. Go to your local library to get some books on needs for BT's. I work all day with my Fiance. Our puppy has a pee pad and a play area. We have a room mate that works nights so he can check on her durring the day. She also has a big bro (Hound Mix) that watches over her. Remember since she is a puppy and being separated from thier mommy they will have some separation anxiety and want to be near someone. This is a lot of responsibility. Good Luck.
