Baby Lexie

Baby Lexie

I just got a puppy 2 weeks ago, her name is Lexie. She is 9 weeks old and she's just full of energy! I have a few questions and I hope someone can help me...

1- She drinks way too much water and too fast so she ends up throwing up all the time. She doesn't seem to understand control. What should I do?

2- She started eating her feces... I changed her food and she was good for a couple days but started again. Any suggestions?

3- She bites and snaps. I tell her NO! but she still does it... Any tricks?

well I currently have a boston and with the feces eating, a lot more dogs do it than you would think, my boston does it and we have tried a few medicines but they didnt help, if you dont mid the meds you can ask your vet about them, they just put a certain scent to the feces that is suppose to make them unappealing to the dog. we actually tried putting cayenne pepper on the feces one time yet he still ate it! he will eat anything! lol

With the water drinking, most bostons that i have ever seen do not have very good control when it comes to drinking or eating, especially mine, he can down a bowl of food in under 2 min. he does not normally throw up though, most likely she will get better with time, you could also ask your vet though for the best opinion!

HI there--first of all, Lexi is just adorable. Have you had Bostons before? If not, you are in for a real treat--they are WONDERFUL! I'm sure you could discuss some of her problem behaviors with your vet, but you should also inquire about puppy kindergarten, or even pre-kindergarten for your girl. Is she really snapping, or is she just "mouthy" and wants to jump and chew on everything? Please be gentle and patient with her and do not use a choker-chain on your pup. You should give her some good puppy chewing toys, like those gummy nylabones. Are you feeding good quality dog food? I would try to keep the yard and areas where she goes potty as clean as possible to help avoid that problem. Good luck!
