New Boston Terrier parent

I just adopted a 5 year old Boston Terrier. She is not eating hardly at all. I know it may take time for her adjust to her new home. However, she only wants to sleep all day. She does not play at all or even acknowledge toys. This is a bit disappointing. I have several friends with Bostons and their playful, silly personality is why I wanted one. I'm wondering if something is wrong with her or if she will come around? She is very sweet and affectionate. Any advise would be great.

The Adjustment Period

Bostons do have an adjustment period.
Our adopted baby was only 7 months old when we got her but it took her about that many months to get "used" to us. Also, all Bostons have different personalities, so you have to let them be their own person. You can still get her to play, though. You might want to go easy on her for a while and also try to find out what she liked and didn't like from her previous years. She may be a lap-dog like one of ours or a sit-by-me-but-don't-touch-me like our other one. The more time you spend with your dog the faster they will adjust. If she will walk on a leash take her for a walk in the morning and again at night. Let her get to know her neighborhood and where she is.

Patients is the key.
