Natural Breeding vs Artifical Insemination

I recently saw on Dogs 101 on Animal Planet that Boston Terriers don't have the ability to breed naturally due to weak bone structure in the pelvis. Is this true? I have a friend who claims that they are capable of breeding naturally.

Natural Birth
by: Mary

Our Boston Terrier girls (2) and our male (1) breed with no problems at all. We have had 4 litters and all of them were naturally impregnated and whelped.

Some females have had some problems conceiving but those that I know of are AKC show dogs that have been bred in-line.

If you are going to get a female to breed, be sure and ask the breeder what the mother's & father's past history of whelping was like.

I saw a breeder online that offers her male's semen. He is a champion and sometimes it is hard to get the two dogs together. But artificial insemination has a time limit and other factors that you would need to consider.
