First what's done is done. Learn from that and time to move on. Just don't panic. The more anxious you are the more anxious your pup will be. First time moms need a lot of care and she will be depending on you. Read as much as you can about whelping. You can google that and weed through what you don't need.

Your female may be just fine. Call your vet and see when he wants to see her. It will probably be in 4 or 5 weeks. You won't notice much going on for those first few weeks. Just keep an eye on her and make sure she is eating, resting, and exercising well.

Follow his directions. Do not give her any flea medication or heartworm meds unless your vet prescribes them. Read read read and Be Prepared!

Here are two websites to get you started on reading. The more informed you are the better things will turn out.
Call the breeder where you got your puppy and see if she will give you any advice. It's best to talk to experienced breeders.

The reason it is best to wait until your pup is 2yrs old is because she is more fully developed and so are her eggs. It is possible that all will turn out well. But do be prepared! Take care of her while she is pregnant. My female lost her appetite and it was a challenge. She was over 2 years old, though. So you will have 9 weeks of things to do BEFORE the pups are born and about 8 to 12 weeks of things to do AFTER they are born! Right now you will need to read everything and then start getting that whelping box ready!

Good Luck and if you have more questions write back!
