My Boston's Constant Licking

I did not notice my Thea licking as much as she does prior to being spayed the beginning of December. She is now 10 months old and she continually licks wet spots on my microsuede loveseat. However she does not lick the fabric on the recliner chairs. She will also lick on my arm or my jeans. It is driving me insane.

I have heard it said it might be a lack of salt in her diet. I have also heard others say it might have something to do with her being sleepy (she has just now settled down and has fallen asleep after doing the licking).

I would appreciate any thoughts and suggestions any of you might have.

 Boston Terrier Licking

We have a 4 year old Boston Terrier that would like everything. She licked people, licked the sheets, licked the couch, licked all my postage stamps so they wouldnt stick to the envelope. I was afraid as winter approach so would lick a steele pole and get her tongue stuck. But we figure it was because she was must bored. So we got another boston terrier and the excessive licking stop. Now I can use my postage stamps without having to tape them to the envelope and there are no more wet spots on the couch. Plus she is much happier, which makes us much happier.

I also have a Boston Terrier who licks all the time. She licks the air, along with everything else.

I have an 8yr. old female (Oreo) who loves to lick also. She is obsessed with trying to lick my face at especially at bedtime. LOL I have a 6 yr. old male (Peanut) who loves to lick pillows and the couch. He seems to do this when he is relaxed and ready for a nap. I think most bostons in general are lickers of some sort. LOL

 Foot Licker

My dog Kali is a year old and she just can't get enough of licking people's feet. But if she can't get to your foot, she will lick you face. If you push her down, she'll nuzzle until she can get back up. It can get annoying but I let it slide because it's kinda cute. Another weird thing she does is bring her ball up to you, and chew the ball on your foot. My weirdo dog.

My Bridgette licks everything too.
I think she likes the way it feels.
When I give her more toys (especially stuffed animals or a good chew toy) she doesn't lick as much.

Watch your Boston and when you catch her licking tell her to stop. If she stops give her a treat. Keep treats in your pockets cuz you never know when she will start licking. You might be able to train her to stop.
