My Boston hates females!

My pure bred Boston was a puppy mill rescue. We adopted him at 9 months old. He LOVES his family which consists of sisters 21 and 18 and brother 15 and mom and dad. However, when other human females come near him he becomes a dog we don't know. He is so mean....growling, barking and trying to bite. He does not behave like this when human males come around. If the female ignores him and pets our pug, then within minutes he is friendly and won't leave her alone, wanting to lick her and be petted. What do you make of this...it's really a problem. By the way, he is nuetered.
