My Boston has 5+ BM's a day

Hi,
I was just wondering if this is normal. Our AKC male boston pup is roughly 5 months old. He is fed the recommended amount of food, but he still has that many BM's. Is that normal for this breed and will it normalize out as he gets older?

It is hard to keep him inside all the time due to this. We tried the crate method, but he just goes in the corner and steps all in it.

He was also eating it, but we corrected that with pineapple slices.
