I have a 3 year old boston, super sweet. but I have noticed twice now when playing with people she bites. She bit me once and then a guy last weekend. She is overall the sweetest dog, but I am worried about this behavior.

Bite me Not!

Never ever let her use her mouth on anyone including yourself even in play. You should never condone this behavior because it is a sign of dominance and you are supposed to be the dominate one.

Make her work for affection such as doing a trick, sit and stay, lay down ect.... In the animal world they do not get unconditional attention. After awhile you will notice when she wants your attention she will do something to get it My Bugg will sit quietly in front of me and just look at me.

You have to remember a pack is highly disciplined and the leader keeps everyone firmly in line. Another thing you should do to enforce your position as leader is never let her walk in front of you or go out the door first because only the lead dog does this.

Also when you are disciplining your dog do not do it in anger or frustration do it calmly and with purpose, if your frustrated or angry you feed this energy to your dog and they become the same.

A leader is always confident and expects the others to follow them never the other way around.

RULES:

- Never give affection that is not earned

- Never let your dog use its' mouth on you or others ( submissive dogs never bite the dominate one)

- Never feel sorry for your dog because it whines
or gives you that look

- Never follow your dog..... they follow you

- Never become angry or frustrated

- Always stay calm and confident

- Do not give eye contact or affection when they are excited

These rules are easy and they do work. I have a hyper active girl who was a return to her breeder because they could not handle her. Now when I come home and she wants me to pet her she will sit and when she is nice and calm I will pet her and it did not take long for her to catch on. She was a dog that could have turned aggressive if I did not give her rules and limitations, very much like kids.

Good Luck and hope this helps
