My Boston Bentley

by Tyanna

For a little while, I don't know when it started, my Boston Terrier has been like making this weird noise like when he gets really excited. Out of the blue and sometimes he gets weak at the knees it like he's not breathing right. Should I be concerned?

Reverse sneeze
by: Patty Newmarket, NH

Boston Terriers often exhibit what is called a "reverse sneeze". At least this is what I've heard it be called. As my vet says, "They have what all other dogs have but everything is all "squished" up in their faces so to speak!" Sometimes when they get excited their epiglottis in the back of their throats doesn't flip back into position and they start sounding like they are sucking in air and gagging. My dog training said to rub my dog's throat when this happens and another person said to blow into their nose so they will swallow. Both never worked for us. I just stay calm and I don't make a big deal out of it and my Boston works it out himself! Not to worry!
