Hi, I am new here. I got my boston in april of 2007 she will be one january 28th. She is a great girl - loves to play and is very smart and very beautiful. I have a question. She is a very big girl - weighs 32 pounds - the vet said when she was small that she would be a big boston. Also, I got her akc papers and saw her sister when i got her from the breeder. Everything seems to be right. But sometimes I think maybe she is really a old boston bull. I have seen pictures of them and she looks a lot like them to me. This really doesn't matter because we love her very much. We just wanted to see what some one else thought. I have sent a picture. Thank you, Sherri

I agree with you, she does look a lot like the Boston Bull (Longer Nose). You will be glad to find out that all Boston Terriers do not look alike. I am no expert, but I feel their looks are determined somehow by what genes are passed down from the ancestors. One thing I have noticed about Bostons is no matter how they differ in looks, they all have very similar personalities and are very smart, making them very easy to train. My neighbor just got a Boggle (Cross between Boston and Beagle)and that dog looks 80% Beagle, but has all the Boston personality traits.

It is hard for me to comprehend how a line of dogs bred for fighting to the death have become such lovable loyal companions. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PET CHOICE.
