Prego Boston
by: Donna

I find myself in the same situation as you. I have a Boston female who will be 1 on 8/30th. She went into her first heat in April and by the end of April to the beginning of May she got together with my son's Boston and she is pregnant. I took her to the vet and she had an ultrasound she has 4 viable puppies, the main thing to do is feed her high protein food and treats, and be ready for the event. Have some clean old towels ready, a sterile scissor and some unscented/unflavored dental floss for tying off the umbilical cords. Main thing to research is a 24 hour veterinarian in case she is unable to give birth to her puppies (they do have rather large heads!) If you need to know how many pups she is carrying there is a facility in New Rochelle NY that will give your dog the ultrasound for free as it is a teaching facility. It is called THE CURE. Karen Nussbaum is the director and she will set you up ASAP. Good Luck and I wish you and your little girl ALL THE BEST!

I wish I could help. The vet should be able to advise you. IF I find something out I'll let you know.

Pregnant?

The biggest thing to remember is that what is done is done. Learn from that and move on. Take care of your female the best you can. Please try to see a vet. There are some that will work with you on payments if you can find one compassionate enough. Read all you can and ask for help (just like you did here). Talk to the breeder where you got your puppy and see if she will mentor you through the whelping process.

Just try to make sure you make this the best delivery you are able to make.

I will email you with suggestions but always take the advice of a vet!

Good Luck
