Blood shot eyes
by: Maddix's Mom

Maddix tends to get blood shot eyes at night time, when he is tired as well. My vet recommended children Benadryl ( worst case scenario), if you feel that it maybe due to allergies. For instance, if you BP was playing outside in weeds and suddenly seems to have irritated eyes, it's a temporary fix.Best of luck :)

Blood shot eyes in a BT
by: Anonymous

I think blood shot eyes and Bostons must go hand in hand because mine do the same thing. I haven't noticed it in my female puppy yet but my adult male gets them either when he is excited or very tired but it goes away pretty fast. I also, think they are prone to allergies and it can be a result of that too.

There are several reasons for blood shot eyes; you can search on the Internet and find them, but I would suggest you take your Boston to the vet's. Eyesight is precious. Good luck.

Mine too
by: Chanice

My BT gets blood shot eyes whenever she is really tired or has been rolling in the grass/dirt too long. Most likely your bts eyes are the same issue. I have found it very common that it happens when they are tired.

My Bostons get blood shot eyes when they are very tired. It happens every night if I stay up too late. When we have to stay up past the usual time, I get a bed on the floor for them. So perhaps yours needs a little nap or it's time to go to bed. As long as they clear up I'm sure it's ok but to be sure ask your vet.
