I feel is underweight, my vet says he is just right. But my 3 other BT's look great! He eats well and is very active but is only 10LBS. His hip bones stick out, the other 3 have nice meaty bottoms! I feel funny walking them because he is so much thinner! I feed Taste of the Wild plus add some real meat like salmon, chicken, beef. I don't feed any by-products. We all take a 20 to 30 min walk 1 to 2 times a day. He wants go for longer walks but I don't want him to lose any weight. Any suggestions? They are all on heartworm and flea and tick medicine.I also leave dry food out all the time.

We have 3 Bostons and if I didn't take one out of the room to eat the other two would eat her food. It's not that they are mean, she would just step aside and let them do it. So I have to feed her separately in another room. I just sit and watch her; it doesn't take very long.

So I suggest that you feed yours separately to make sure you know how much he is eating. If you already do this, then you may want to measure how much he is eating...ours eat 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup in the evening. You could get a supplement over the internet for appetites and then slowly add a little bit of food at a time...like an extra tablespoon a week. Be sure your vet approves of the supplement!

I don't see many Bostons with their hip-bones showing so I don't think that is normal, but if your vet has looked at him I wouldn't worry too much. I would, however, get a second opinion from another vet.
