Murphy - Our new addition

Murphy and Brutus...we're gonna need a bigger bed!
My old man (a Chow/Lab mix named Angus)died at the ripe old age of 13 or so (we're not really sure as he was a rescue dog.) He passed peacefully in his sleep and is sadly missed by our family. We have another dog, Brutus (a mini Schnauzer) who has never been the only dog in the house. Needless to say, the little guy was beside himself with grief. So, the hubby and I decided to take him to the local shelter to see if we could find him a companion. My mother stepped in and told us to wait, as a lady she worked with had just told her about the litter of Boston's she was looking to find good homes for. Her male's papers had not come through yet, so it was an unregistered litter and she just wanted them to find happy homes.
As Bostons are notoriously lively and playful, she thought one would be a good fit for my Brutus. Boy was she ever right! Brutus was timid at first with Murphy, as he was just so small. However, Murphy's larger than life personality quickly won him over and they play all day, with nap times now and then to rest up for another round of play. With help from Brutus, Murphy was house trained in no time flat, and has already learned to sit, stay, lie down, and give paw. We still miss Angus, but Murphy is such a little fireball and so full of love that our family feels right again. Thanks for reading!
