Ms. Nellie De La O

by Yvonne De La O
(Albuquerque, New Mexico)

Nellie was adopted from a Boston Terrier Rescue in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was love at first sight. The very moment I brought her home she went straight to a stuffed momma bear with her cub and carried it around all that day she hasent departed from it since, she actually sleeps with this bear and licks it as if it were her pup.
Nellie unfortunatly was not well cared for, she knew no commands or was even housebroken properly, she constantly seeks my full attention. And sadly she would urinate and shake the minute a fly swatter or a broom was being held. She would hold onto my hand or arm with a firm mouth, not allowing me to leave her sight. And she ate ( inhaled ) her hard food as if it were her last meal.
Today she is a very confident, rambunctious, And VERY intelligent, she learned sit, stay, touch (with her nose) and was housebroken within 2 weeks!!
Every morning she'll jump and spring board off my stomach. Any visitor gets a big welcome... While standing around oblivious to her presence. She will jump from a sitting position to your mouth and slip you a tongue LOL. She is also the fastest runner at the dog park and never seems to tire. ( 2 1/2 hours! )
To be honest I had never had a smaller dog before so it was all new to me to have such an energetic dog. Nellie is the best buddy I have. I don't think I've loved a pet this much.
So prepare yourself if your looking to adopt one. they're loving but can be nippers to other dogs Have patience, energy, teaching skills, and an open heart because once you've committed to this breed mix you won't be bored ever again.
