Monkey See and Monkey Do

This photo was taken just a day or two after Scarlett arrived
Darby, with the narrow blaze, was born the day after our wonderful Boston, Bogie, died on our quiet country road at 5:30 in the morning. He's so similar to Bogie we feel, sometimes, as though Bogie has been reincarnated, except Darby seemed to have a natural fear of the road. Darby will be 2 on May 11, 2009. Darby is our little devil, always wants to play and will shred stuffies in less than a minute.
On Dec. 19, 2008, we rescued
Scarlett, who had been living with an elderly man whose age and health issues made it difficult for him to properly care for her. She spent at least 18 hours a day in a crate and had no stamina, especially compared to Darby, our elite athlete.
Now that she's in a loving home with regular exercise, this little lady, whose name was originally "AnnaBanana." has become our shining star. She came into heat while we were fostering her, but thanks to our local humane society, who called us to ask if we would be interested in taking her, she has since been neutered, received shots and tests and come through now with a clean bill of health. She is sweet natured, loves everyone, and craves attention. She doesn't destroy toys like Darby, so her stuffies have to be kept separately.
We think she is the "boss of him" most of the time, though they share bully sticks and other assorted treats and toys quite well. They sleep in bed with us, and manage to find each other during the night, so by morning they are usually sharing body heat.
We love our Bostons, and are now convinced that if at all possible, they belong in pairs!
