Luxating Patella Surgery for Bostons

Just wanted to advise anyone thinking of having surgery for their Boston's luxating patellas - do NOT have both legs done at once, ESPECIALLY if you have a somewhat hyper one (which is usually common with this breed and one of the reasons I love them!).

I made this mistake mainly because the vet cuts you a deal and only wanted my dog going through recovery once, but it has ended up costing me double and don't think my Boston will ever have normal use of his one leg. He slipped and fell about a week after surgery when the doorbell rang and he went flying through his gate for the door. He ended up rupturing his tendon and a metal brace had to be drilled into his leg for the next month and physical therapy after that. I feel that if he only one leg operated on at a time, he would have had more control and this would have been less likely to happen.
