Lucy

Lucy died on August 29, 2011...exactly 14 years to the day she was born. She was a Jack Russell/Boston Terrier mix who was given to me by a friend at the age of 4 weeks. Too young and not properly weened, she was malnourished and had worms. Her mother was a stray and in bad health who had passed the worms on to her puppies. I bottle fed her, nursed her back to health and she flourished. She was the queen in our house for 14 years. She loved to play, run, chase the ball and was very vocal. She had recently learned to say my son's name, "OLIVER". When you would say his name, she would mimick you. Sometimes, with incredible accracy. She loved laughter and would bark in response to a happy house. She was so smart and had a strange affinity for fresh vegetables and fruit. Broccoli was her favorite.
