Luciana - Boston Terrier / Italian Greyhound Mix

by Barb Z.
(Chicago, IL)

Luciana is a Boston Terrier/Italian Greyhound mix. She is 24 lbs. of Boston muscle with a longer snout, full white tipped tail, deep chest and skinny waist. Her ears say Boston/IG in the cutest perkiest way! She is very loving, smart, neurotic (sight hound), agile & sweet. She is my first dog although I've lived with dogs all my life. She is my girl. She is 3 years old, 24 lbs (in the Summer, 26 lbs in the Winter). If I could have another just like her, I'd jump at the chance.

Boston/IG mix
by: Anonymous

I got my dog about 8 years ago when my boyfriend showed up with him in the car...telling me that his ex-girlfriend was getting rid of him. Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled...But, by the end of the day, Hercules and I were best friends. Since then, we have been inseparable. I work at home, so he is with me 24/7. According to his "papers" he was purchased at Petland...he is described as a male Bug (Boston/Pug mix)...but I have always had a hard time swallowing the Pug part....he has a long nose and the same build as a IT but with Boston Terrier coloring. He weighs 17.4 pounds. I would love to know what exactly he is....he looks very similar to the pics, except he doesn't have a long tail....he's got a Boston tail. Is a Boston/IT a common mix?

I adopted in the spring a great "Italian greyhound mix" that has to be Boston Terrier for the other half. She is such a great dog. She is great company for my full Italian Greyhound Pacino. Would love another Boston/Italian mix someday. Gloria

Boston Terrier / italian Greyhound mix for adoption

I have been looking to see what one of these mixes looks like and came across this conversation. I am currently fostering a girl that could be this dogs twin! Here is a link for anyone interested:

She is by far one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had in my care!

Boston Terrier/IG Mix

My Zoey could pass as Luciana's twin. But, I've had a few people tell me that she looks pit/boston terrier. I know in my heart that she isn't pit. However, I've wondered if she might be BT/whippet because she has a broad chest and very thin waist. What body shape does other peoples BT/IG look like?

RE: Pit cross confusion
by: Anonymous

That is common. We adopted/rescued our Boston Terrier Mix w/ Italian Greyhound last summer, she will be a year old May 23rd. They said she would get up to 30 lbs, and she was Bos. Terrier mix with pit, but they said they weren't 100%. Well were they ever wrong! She's just turning a yr but she's 15 pounds. We just recently found out what she was mixed with. We knew it wasn't pit once she got older. :)

Mix for adoption

I am currently in the process of looking to foster/adopt a terrier/italian greyhound mix. However, the shelter labeled her as a pit cross. Is this a common confusion?

How tall is Luciana? Would you consider her a big or medium sized dog?

Boston terrier / Italian Greyhound
by: Stacy

I had one show up on my door step two years ago and she was the love of my life. She was even my flower girl in my wedding. She was est. at 16yrs old when I found her. My new husband just went and got me an italian greyhound hoping to help me, but she was just so beautiful! I am a huge animal lover, but I have thought about trying to find a female boston and breeding just once. She was just an awesome mix. I could never replace her, but I now just have such a soft spot for iggy's and Bostons. They are awesome dogs.

Zoey
by: Kim

I believe my dog is a boston terrier/IG mix. She is the mirror image of Luciana. The description provided by Luciana's owner fits my Zoey. Do you have a full pic of Luciana that you can add to your site. Or, e-mail one to me. kimsjackrussel@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Kim

Samson

I have a 7 year old Boston Terrier Italian Greyhound mix named Samsom. I got him from a woman who couldn't keep him. And he has been my best friend. And he gets along so well with our Wired Fox Terrier Archie. :) So obedient and loyal. He waits for me to get home from work. And he talks. I say I want my momma and he says it back. It's so awesome. I wish I could of had him as a puppy. If anyone has some pictures, that would be awesome to see them as a puppy.

Arabella
by: Kathi B

I have a Boston Terrier/Italian Greyhound Mix. Her name is Arabella (Bella). Shes 2 1/2 years old and is the best dog I have ever owned. I've had 2 other dogs, a Dashund mix and a Cocker Spaniel. They were great dogs and I loved them very much but Arabella is special. She came from a questionable begining. I acquired her at 3 weeks of age and fed her puppy formula every three hours for the first few weeks. She has since grown into a loving, faithful, highly inteligent friend. She's almost human in some of her actions. She looks exactly like Luciana. I'm having diffculty posting her picture. I agree with Luciana's mother. I would absolutely get another one. No doubt in my mind!!

I have a Boston Bulldog/Italian Greyhound mix
by: Tifanie

My husband and I have a 2 1/2 yr old boston bulldog named Zoie and now we have a 9 week old Boston Bulldog/Italian greyhound mix. They love each other so much and play good. My new puppy is so cute. She has more of the boston features than the ig features. She is already 7.7 pounds. Your Luciana is beautiful.
