Looking for a Boston?

(FL)

I was looking to see is someone would be a forever home for my boston terrier. He's a wonderful dog, but not so much of a match with my husband. My daughter and I are heartbroken about it, but finding it a loving home is our most important thought.

Family Dynamics...

Looking for a Boston...

Your family is always more important! We are owned by many Bostons.

I think you are wise to place your little guy. For some reason, you husband is probably wired to be more accepting of a more independent breed. Some people are raised to believe that dogs are "Dogs" and should hold a secondary position in your family. He would probably do better with a more independent breed such as a hunter or working breed.

I know this heartbreaking but, for your little guy and your husband the chemistry is all wrong.

Bostons are very sensitive to rejection. They like to know that they are part of the family.

If you decide to keep your little guy you need to have a sit-down with your husband and find out if he really doesn't care for animals, dogs or if this pup is really not a good match.

As noted many others are willing to provide a home for your little guy you do have options.

I wish the best of luck.

Holly

Oscar is still with us. We've had him since he was about 10 weeks old...over 2 years now. My husband and I keep going back and forth on what to do, but for right now Oscar is at home.
Thanks for checking

Sad
by: Anonymous

Did you find a home for your BT? It's so sad that you have to get rid of him. I'd say, the dog stays, and you go! Ha!

Why isn't this dog a good match for your husband?

How long have you had him?

Oscar

Years ago, we had a larger dog that also had a some stomach issues. A change in diet really helped a lot. We're glad to hear that Oscar is still with you - he sounds like a great little guy.

Forever home

We still have Oscar and we are trying different things that seem to be helping him. I'm hoping it works so we don't have to say good-bye to him!
Thanks for asking!

More info
by: Parent

We are located in South Florida. His name is Oscar, he's 2 yrs old, fixed, microchipped, and crate trained. He gets along well with other people, children, cats, and dogs. The issue with my husband and Oscar? All I can think of is that he's nervous around him, causing a "nervous stomach" that usually ends up in the house. However, when I'm home he's fine, lets me know when he needs to go out, and cuddles on my lap. I rarely see his frustration but I'm not home as often either.

His information
by: Lesley

We are located in Broward county FL, close to Ft Lauderdale. His name is Oscar and is a fixed 2 yr old male. He is also microchipped and crate trained. I can not pin point the issue with my husband, but it seems as if Oscar is scared of him as evidence by nervous bowels. Due to our work schedules, most of the time alone at home is with my husband and daughter. Oscar is happy to let her play nurse on him or even put him in her doll clothes! He loves a lap to snore in or to cuddle under the covers to keep my feet warm during the cold nights. Please feel free to email me with any further questions or interest at LJmedicRN@yahoo.com

We are the featured parents of Howie and Ziggy this month. What state are you located and what are the circumstances? I have a close friend that would be interested in becoming a Boston Terrior parent.
